I love the Genesis platform, but when I update it automatically it always seems to screw up, so I have to have someone update it manually. Do you have any idea why that might be happening?

I never had such problem with genesis, it may be because either you haven’t updated WordPress to the latest version or your theme may not be supportive for the current version of Genesis.

Actually, updating WordPress automatically is what is giving me problems. But maybe it could be that it doesn’t support the latest version of Genesis. I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Idon’t really know much about updating Genesis framework, but with your detailed steps on how to do the updating, I might be able to try. Thank you for sharing, Aseem.
I have a couple questions. 1. How can I determine which version of Genesis I am currently running? I have check for updates ticked but I’m not sure if that lets me update automatically or just sends me an email when there’s a new version.
2. Can you take a look at my sidebar and tell me how to adjust it so the words aren’t cut off and appear correctly.

Thanks Mitch for stopping by here.
1. Go to your wp dashboard, click on genesis theme settings. There you will see an information column right in there is your current version of genesis.
2. You might have some problem with your css. Just reinstall the theme and it will be fine. Make sure to have a backup before you update/change your theme. Or you can edit your sidebar width (width: 366px;) to 300px
